Our Story
Built by people who've been there.
We met when Liam played as an overseas player for Jon's club. Both of us have a genuine passion for sport, and the more we talked about our own clubs, the more we realised they were fighting the exact same battle: financial sustainability and reliable income generation. So we went looking to see if it was just us. It wasn't, almost every grassroots club has the same problems.
What we also found is that nobody was actually solving it properly. So we built SPNSR, because we'd seen the problem up close, and nobody was giving it the attention it deserved to fix.
Jon
Co-founder
Nearly two decades of experience in grassroots sport, as a committee member, player, volunteer and club official. Jon's sat through thousands of hours of club and committee discussions, and knows every problem a sports club can run into, inside and out.
Jon's also a lifetime entrepreneur, having built and run his own businesses. That gives him a rare view of the funding problem from both sides: the club asking for support, and the business being asked to give it.
Liam
Co-founder
Having played high-level cricket in the Western Suburbs of Sydney, Australia, along with a range of other sports, Liam understands what it takes to build successful grassroots sporting organisations. Over the past eight years, he's been heavily involved in building his own club's commercial engine. With a background in commercial strategy and product, he's ideally placed to turn grassroots insight into a scalable system.
